Development in technology over the years
Each year the company broadened its product range to cover the whole spectrum of money processing equipment and systems. The 'Double Sorting' technology first developed in the 1960s was further developed and refined over a 20 year period and has been in use until recently. In 1988 SCAN COIN launched a new range of coin counting and sorting equipment based on a patented electronic coin recognition technology with unsurpassed accuracy. This new coin recognition technology also paved the way for new innovations like the first self service coin counters on the market, the SCAN COIN CDS.

SCAN COIN North America, Inc. was founded in 1979 to support the US market. The headquarters is located in the Washington DC area. In 2003 the name was changed to SCAN COIN North America, Inc. in order to reflect the increased area to support. Today, SCAN COIN North America, Inc. has sales and distribution through an extensive network of dealers covering North America. SCAN COIN is selling to all major markets such as banks and other financial institutions, casinos, transportation firms, armored car operators, retail, vending, amusement, laundromats, carwashes, federal and local governments, etc. - anywhere money is counted and sorted.
